The Journey
Mr. Akhlaq Khan is the principal of Standard Chartered Accountants (SCA). The venture has been the culmination of years of perseverance and steadfast vision.
Mr. Khan hails from the humble town of Navua on Fiji’s main island of Viti Levu. He comes from a modest family who believe in hard work, honesty and ethics. These qualities enabled Mr. Khan to achieve his lifelong dream of having his own accounting firm.
Mr. Khan is a registered ‘Chartered Accountant in Public Practice’ (CPP) in Fiji. This is the highest accounting certification by the Fiji Institute of Accountants. Mr. Khan also has a Masters Degree in ‘Professional Accounting’ from the regionally acclaimed University of the South Pacific. Mr. Khan has always been a high achiever and is credited as Fiji’s youngest CPP member.
The Before
Mr. Khan’s
professional work experience began in the year 2010, having just completed his
Bachelor’s Degree. He started off in an accounting firm to polish his skills
and apply his knowledge into real life. After 6 years, he moved into a
managerial position in New Zealand owned ‘Parkers Business Solutions’. Here Mr.
Khan managed their entire Fiji operations and was based at their Suva head
office. This experience paved the way for Mr. Khan to finally venture into his
ultimate career objective of operating his own firm.
In June of 2022,
with the blessings of his then employers, Mr. Khan established Standard
Chartered Accountants with the goal of helping individuals, small and medium
enterprises get access to affordable accounting services. Mr. Khan has always
believed that good accounting advice can change a person’s life and/or business
for the better. With the establishment of SCA, Mr. Khan hopes to provide his
services to one and all, and contribute to the economic success of Fiji.
